I'm currently  working on a RRA lar-8 build and I've been having issues finding the right scope for me. I was looking at a scope that primary arms makes. I'm hoping to keep my cost of the scope to $500ish. Does anyone have any recommendations for good optics around that price range?

Primary Arms is GTG around here. Lots of love for Vortex too.

Some comments on PA I've read is that their eye relief is not very forgiving. Not sure about the new scope though.

Personally, the new FFP has a easy reticle to use for ranging. I did not like that only the horseshoe illuminated on the scope so I went with their mildot scope instead. I may regret it eventually but that was my thinking at the time.

Zeiss might be an option as their glass is tops. I had to send one in and am waiting for the replacement return.  Pending that goes well, I might wait for a full recomentdation.

Those are some pretty damned good prices for a PST. I'm building a .308 AR. A $460 2.5-10 Vortex PST? Yes please.

Actually the horseshoe is fully illuminated but the rest of the reticle is like only partial illumination which still works at night.
