I have been shooting long range for about 3 years now. Long being out to 800 yards with an AR-10 SASS. I am doing pretty good but really want to learn more of the technical side of things. I have watched Magpul's Precision Rifle series, several long range shooters youtube, snipershide vids and I really just know enough to be dangerous. Most of my ability I believe has come from luck and SWAGing it.
Are there any good books, manuals to pick up and read on the subject? Before I started reloading, I read every book I could get my hands on. I consider myself fairly skilled at that now due to all the reading on the subject prior. I use Strelok Pro on my Ipad and that has helped me a lot on some fundamentals. Unfortunately I don't have time to take a class, but I do have time to read. Thanks for any help you can direct me to. |

"The military and police sniper" is one of my favorites. I've never cared for plasters books.
There's nothing wrong with having books but without getting hands on training a lot of what you'll read will be nothing but words, if that makes sense. The books will serve you better by getting with an instructor first. You can then reference them afterwards. |

Just want to know the some of the reasons why I am doing certain things. That comes from the books. Thanks for all the help guys. Have plenty to read now. |
