| I've been archery hunting elk in NW Colorado for a few years now and absolutely love it but have not yet taken one with my bow. It's not for lack of opportunities though. I would probably have a kill just about every year if I were hunting Rifle. Hell, even muzzleloader. It's usually a matter of closing that last 30 yard gap that's the issue. Yes, ideally i'd have a buddy calling from behind me but it just seems like I always have the best opportunities when I off on my own. Now... Turkey hunting is another story. I've had great success with easterns, and osceolas down here in Florida using decoys so I'm thinking about trying one of those "Montana Decoys" on my Elk trip this year. Anyone here have any experience with them? |

Ugggh COME ON!!!! What the hell?
I'm having less luck with this thread than I did with my red dot bow sight question http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_15_4/232_Has_anyone_here_use_a_red_dot__reflex_type_bow_sight_.html "Oh man look at that," says the guy with the shiny new black gun "That AR15 site has Archery too?" "Wow, that's great! I finally found a forum that I can call home." "Hello?"... "HELLOOO OUT THERE?"...... a cold breeze runs through the air...... "Aw come on guys, quit effin' with the new guy. this isn't funny any more ....Really!!!" (music plays somberly in background- I'm lonelyyy....Sooooo lonelyyy) Hmm hmm hmm Oh, hello crickets. |
There's probably not many here who bowhunt for elk. I wish I could.
There is a big game forum here on Arfcom, but it covers firearms hunting as well. You might try there though. http://www.ar15.com/forums/f_10/2_Big_Game.html |
