| Wife and I are getting in to bow hunting. Neither of us have any experience with bows. I'd like to stay in the $800 for each setup. I know I need to go out and shoot everything before I decide but was curious what the better manufactures are. A buddy of mine just picked up a PSE Dream Season Evo. It's seems very nice (seems like it has all the bells and whistles lol) but I honestly have no idea whats what. |
| I went to a shop and got everything for $750. PSE Brute X, release, trophy ridge quiver, drop away rest, Trophy ridge sight, dozen arrow, and rage broadheads. I got to mix and match whatever i wanted. They cut the arrows for free and gave me 1/2 dozen for free too. Took about 3 hours but the set everything up on the spot, took so long because they were busy. Already took 2 bucks with my bow this year. I love the PSE. Just my 2 cents. |

Went yesterday and shot a Matthews, Hoyt, PSE and an Elite. Out of all the boys I really didn't care for the Matthews Chill. Unfortunately I'm a leftie and all the bows I shot yesterday were righties. We are heading out to another shop today to try more. I called around yesterday to try to find some Bowtech but they are few and far between. Same with any left handed bows.
Have to say the shop we went to was great though. We walked in with no knowledge and no equipment. They did not mind at all. Had demo guards, releases and bows for us to play with. The owner even took my wife aside and called Hoyt to get some info on a bow she really liked. Was a great experience. She's is hooked and can't wait to go out today lol. She wants her own release so looks like we'll be buying some equipment today lol |

that's good OP. Definitely a good shop will set you up right. Like I stated previously I prefer Hoyt and Bowtech but last year I ended up going the Hoyt route because at least for me the RKT cams on the Hoyt blew the Bowtech out of the water in terms of feel of draw.
Then again it is all personal preference. Welcome to the bow disease. |
