| I attended the AR15 Rockcastle Pro AM last year and had a great time. I was able to register this year and was able to get one of my friends to register as well. He is new to the sport and will be using my rifle, shotgun and pistol. Instead of having him buy a whole belt setup I figured it would be nice if I just took my outer belt and had him put it on. I have a CR speed belt. Problem is he is a bit larger and would need a different sized inner belt. I've looked around and can't seem to find just the CR Speed inner belt. Is there a place I could buy this or a compatible inner belt? |

I don't think you'll find just an inner belt anywhere new. This is one of those situations where a 3 gun EE would be very helpful. Hopefully someone with an extra, used belt will come along...or someone who mixes and matches belts like Jtischauser may have an extra to sell.

How about the safariland inner belt? I know it can be purchased separate, just not sure what Velcro side it is..... BOTH - older competition inner belts were the opposite gender to the current ELS inner belt. I had to buy a new inner belt when I upgraded to the ELS system
I have to say I'm not a big fan of the CR Speed belt system for 3-Gun because I have seen too many start coming loose mid-stage. Velcro alone (and a little keeper) is insufficient for retention. The hooks and pillars Safariland use are fundamentally more secure. |

IIRC, my first "big time" match was the North Carolina Tactical match put on by Kyle Lamb at Fayetteville, and then the requirement for the Tactical class was that the pistol and mags had to be on for the duration of the match...there weren't a lot of options for shotshell carriers other than the trays... several of his matches had pretty long jungle runs for both rifle and shotgun (32+ rounds) , so we just started carrying everything on the belt, and a wider belt was pretty much the solution...if the squad doesn't have to work the stage by pasting, setting steel, most of the newer shooters reconfigure at each stage...
I shoot my retention holster for USPSA matches...I'm not going to win the Cadillac anyway...good luck at Rock Castle...... |

Thanks! Aiming for the upper 50% :) |

CM I keep all my extra inner belts in my many range bags. That way when I forget my belt I gotta backup. U can never have too many DA or CR Speed belts lying around. |

They might sell one even if it not on the website. I am thinking competition specific stores like Shooters Connection or Speed Shooters. |

Ok, this may sound dumb but I'm new to 3Gun and trying to learn all I can daily. What is the inner belt you fellows are talking about, the pants belt? It's a Velco belt worn through your belt loops, the outside is covered with the soft Velco, the out belt with your gear has the grabby part of the Velco on the inside and sticks to the inner belt It's not a dumb question, if you've never seen the belt on someone or worn one you might not understand the concept. |
