Ok I have decided on the Versa Max Tactical. This Forum clearly loves this gun, and yes you helped me pick it. My state gun forum is not a fan becuase its only a 8 round mag tube instead of the 9 round which is my division max...
what do you all have to say about this? |

I do not like how Remington packages their products. For a $1200+ shotgun, putting it in cheap cardboard packaging and not bagging their sharpest items says something about the company. Their cheaper VM models come in hard cases....so WTF? Twice I have received it, it was the same. The packaging had fallen apart. I got a replacement today after waiting for a while for my local gunshop to get it in from any of their distributors. This third one I got in....the packaging held together. I have shot it before and liked it enough to buy it, but I almost gave up and wanted to go the M2 field route that everyone is doing. It is ready to go out of the package and I hope NC will make +1 tube extension for it some time soon. I like how it feels in my hands and it is pretty much ready to go out of the packaging. As the season is over where I live, I will be sending off parts to get modified at CRum's. Good luck with yours. |
| Love mine. It's a lot better gun then then the JM Pro that now just sits in a corner. Call Jeff at C-Rums for a welded lifter. The guys at Roulette Tactical can hook you up with a plus 1 or a plus 2 tube extension. |

Nordic Components tube extension is probably the most common and has a great reputation... Brownells carries them or can order directly from nordic The VM Tactical already comes with a Nordic extension, but only to 8+1 capacity. By adding a Roulette Tactical cap the OP can increase his capacity by one or two rounds cheaply and easily, without having to replace the whole mag extension unit. The Roulette caps look COOL too

The nordic XXL cap will let you add a round to your tube for $20.
Nordic Components Or you can call and just buy a longer tube with no cap or nut for less money than those ridiculously priced painted caps. Or for less than $20 more than the colorful cap just get a whole new tube and sell your old one. Make Ready Pro Shop |

Not so - the Nordic caps will NOT fit the VM Tactical magazine extension. For whatever reason they decided to use a different thread. This has created an opportunity for Glenn at Roulette. His caps also add value by looking awesome and bringing a little bling to an otherwise colorless sport |

I bought mine for shooting three gun, not so I could look at it sitting pretty in it's box. |
| Good choice on the versa max. Carbon arms and Nordic should be releasing a one piece tube soon. If you don't want to wait, a plus one or two extension will get you by just fine. Check your slug poi, mine was way off and I had to send it off to be bent. Otherwise, best shotgun for the game, in my opinion. |

You are right, it should be packaged well. My point though is that wile I might be slightly annoyed that the gun was scratched I wouldn't care enough not to buy it given it's intended purpose. Your car analogy is weak because it's more like buying a truck that you plan on off roading with. After the first few tosses in a dump barrel the gun is going to have plenty of marks on it. I just sold my first VMT so I could buy one of the new 'Zombie Camo' guns, I just think it looks cool. But come first match, I'll be running that gun as hard as I ran my last one, scratches and dings be darned. Tim |

It isn't just scratches that becomes an issue. The scratch on mine were so deep that I saw bare metal in several parts.
Also, another issue......my 3rd replacement that came in had to be shipped back for service the day it came in. 3 shotguns and 3 problems....the owners are really screwing up the Remington name. I have yet to shoot any of the ones I have bought so far and months have passed. |
