Hi there I have not done any competitive shooting yet but am gearing up. I found a stoeger m3000 that has a 30" barrel on it that I can trade an older carry gun I dont use anymore for. Would the 30" barrel be to long for competitive shooting in 3 gun? I would be adding a +8 tube so the tube would only stick out about 2-4" past the barrel with a 30"

Thanks
Brandon

If you're adding a tube longer than the barrel it's not really going to make much difference. A few extra inches of shotgun barrel doesn't weigh much and you can always just swap it out with a new shorter barrel later if you really want.

thanks for the response.

I noticed most shotgun owners seem to shoot slugs out of 20-26" barrels, will the 30" barrel give any problems when shooting slugs?

If your tube will be flush or beyond the barrel, there's little to no downside to going as long as you want.

It will be fine.

if it's a good deal, do it. it'll be many matches before it matters how long your barrel is
