Ok so I'm a newb to ar's and competition but 3gun has got me interested. So I and a buddy are building 2 ar's for 3 gun he is using a BHW 18" bull barrel and I'm on the fence on what barrel. I'm in no hurry  because I have to a second back surgery in 6 months.  Here are my choices let me know what you think
All 18" rifle length  standard profile .750 gas block no bull barrel for me
WAO
BHW
Rainer match

I'm an old fart, and an 18" bull barrel would be way too heavy for me to shoot offhand (I say this as I have an Armalite 15T with a 18" stainless barrel, but not for 3 gun)... my factory Rock River (Wilson?) shoots S&B 55 grainers to 4" at 400m...as well as a friend's Krieger...locally, precision shots to 200m are at the most 35 per match on multiple stages... the most targets engaged on the long range stage at Ft Benning 3 gun was 9 or 10...and my factory contour worked well

+1 for the 18" Rainier Match SPR. I built an upper for three gun using this barrel and have been pleased with it so far. If I had a complaint it would be that I wish it was lighter. Shoots my 55gn hand loads very well. I'm sure it would do even better with a heavier match bullet. Just haven't had a chance to load and test any. Not sure I want to run more expensive ammo at the matches when most the shots don't call for that level of accuracy.

I went with an 18" ULTRAmatch.......because I wanted to be ULTRA compared to Brian (DourtyB). I'm glad I did too....cause its ultra-matchy!

cereal?     .....I like my ultramatch barrel, shoots almost as well as my OBR at a MUCH lower price!

I think he was referring to black hole weaponry (BHW) and I would think White Oak (WOA instead of WAO?)

Ok so I have been waiting on a WOA or Rainer match barrel to come back in stock, with no luck I picked up a DPMS 18" rifle. I figured worse case I could cut it down and re thread since I have access to Machine shop. The down side is that I'm in the hospital for my 2nd back surgery and won't be able to start for a couple months but at least this doc fixed it.
