| What are you thoughts on the AR Gold Trigger for 3 gun? Most importantly are the reliable? |
|
Probably THE most reliable trigger out there. Can be adjusted down to a reliable 1.5#'s. Reset is rather weak but Ronin can supply a stiffer return spring but at the expense of a slightly heavier trigger pull.
If you like a fine 1911 trigger. This is the trigger for you. If you like a tuned Glock trigger with a snappy reset, the Gieselle S3G is more up your alley. |

It's light but there is no "wall" so I find myself jerking it when the sights are on target but not stable enough to actually take the shot. I also have trouble zeroing the S3G because I can't prep it to the wal before I break the shot. If I understand you correctly the Gold is a lighter version of the JP? |
|
The Gold is a 2 stage, but has a very light 1st stage. (like the take-up on a 1911) My JP has no take-up, so I wouldn't compare it to an AR Gold.
I like the Gold, but the reset is a little soft. I would also prefer the trigger to be a little wider. But the break is light and very clean. |

If you're looking for that 'wall' to help prep the trigger for a longer range shot then I can't imagine a better trigger than the AR Gold. I've also got the Geissele S3G and am experiencing the same issue when prepping for a precise shot. Sure the AR Gold is two-stage but pulling through both stages is still shorter than most single stage triggers. Besides the 1st stage is under a pound in weight. |

I didn't know that first stage was a stage at all. I called it slack. Kinda like an M&P trigger has. Kinda like milking a cow. I like the Geisselle 3g. It took some getting used to and at first I did not like it. But once you get used to it you will love it. I have found I can shoot faster and still be precise on harder smaller targets.
Never tried the Gold trigger would not mind feeling one in someone elses rifle first. Pat |

I have the AR Gold in my dedicated .22 AR and I have 5k or so through it now. I really like it and I really can't imagine a better trigger The AR Gold trigger puts most bolt gun triggers to shame.
I am waiting on my 2 LG Pin S3G Triggers to come from Geissele for my 2 Colt Lg Pin 6920 Carbines. I'm kinda worried now about precision shots. An AR Gold won't fit in the Colts with the sear block shelf unless they have changed that stupid feature when they changed to std pin size on hammer and trigger I would have to machine out the block on my 2 Colt 6920's. I figured the S3G would be perfect for long precision shots and the CQB shots as well. Especially as its touted as a 3 gun trigger. |

But it is not exactly what I think we are going for. Like has already been said its not so easy make a good shot. It has a long trigger pull and breaks in the middle of that. The trigger feels the same as any trigger that comes in a parts kit but just not as heavy. Maybe 3.5 lbs. |

I've only ever worked with stock triggers, and it looks like the AR Gold integrates the trigger, disconnector, hammer, and all related springs into a single package. Is this thing permanently lubricated, or at least have specific lubrication points? It sounds like an excellent trigger, but $280 is a bit steep. |
