I want an compensator for my 16" AR 15 and have been looking around.  My budget is small due to the fact soon I will be buying a designated upper for 3 gun like the Stag 3G.  So for the meantime I want to upgrade this uppers flash hider.  I still want to keep this thing range friendly so I dont need a compensator that is too loud for my fellow shooters.  So I guess I am asking for a hybrid compesator/flash hider.  I want the results of a compensator but the sound and effectiveness of a flash hider.  My top choice right now is the Yankee Hill 5c2.  Good price at $20.  Any other suggestions out there?https://www.primaryarms.com/Yankee_Hill_Machine_Phantom_Comp_Flash_Hider_p/yhm-28-5c2.htm?CartID=1

Try a Troy mid evil flash hider or the claymore both are not too terribly expensive. The claymore does a good job of pushing concusion down range similar to a noveske pig if you are worried about being nice to people shooting next to you. or there is the tried and try vortex flash hider if you are set on a flash hider... All 3 are sitting right around $50

I am not dead set on a flash hider.  I just know this upper will eventually be a casual shooter, I want a compensator but I just dont want the loudness of one.  So I didnt know if there is anything else out there for this appication.  I will be using it for 3gun till I can afford an Stag 3g rifle.

They have a lot of major muzzle devises on the market in one place so you can see and compare most of them on the same site without having 15 tabs open... I use them and brownells to window shop then I go to my local arms dealer and have him order what I want...

I use the Rainier Arms mini comp on a 20.  I think it's about $48.  It's pretty effective for it's size, very neutral in feel and it doesn't over compensate (push the muzzle down).  Also the noise from the side blast isn't obnoxious.

The miculek comp is the best bang for the buck out there I am told.  I have never shot one.

I have one on my 18" build and it seems to work well for me, although it is very loud.

My battle comp isn't as loud as most of my comps and it works well.

It seems to be a trade off.   Loud = Effective

I just decided to go with the Miculek compensator.  Got it in this week and installed it, looks great just need to take it to the range when I get a day off from work.  I finally gave up on the search on a flash hider / compensator hybrid.  The Miculek is very reasonable priced and the positive reviews out weighed the negative.
Thanks Guys

I would add a pic of it on my rifle but I dont want to spend over an hour trying to upload a picture on this site, plus you already knows what it looks like.....

I shot a friend's rifle with a Battlecomp last weekend.  I was impressed with how effective it was.  Not as good as a JP, Titan or Rolling Thunder, but less concussion if you are standing slightly behind and to the side of the shooter.
