I'm want to switch to ear plugs for hearing protection for 3-Gun.  What make/model of ear plugs are the pros using in 3G Nation?

I have a set of plugs made by ShooterPlugs. A company out of McKinney, Tx. They are mad from medical silicon and work very well in outdoor environments. They aren't enough for indoor shooting though. There is a new soft ear plug I've used by Peltor they call it "Next"I believe. They are just like normal foam plus except the material is very slow to return to its normal shape so it makes it possible to get the plugs very deep in your ear canal and they offer excellent protection for about $0.50.

I like the ones that was issued from the Army, but now I use electronic muffs instead.

I have the surefire ear plugs and love shooting with them on my range at home as long as noone has a muzzle brake on their gun, then even with the little plugs completely blocking them off.....my ears ring for 2 days after practicing in an open environment.

I have a set of blue ear plugs a friend gave me that have a red plastic string holding them together, no idea who makes them, but they appear to be like silicone and have 3 flanges that enter the ear canal...if that makes sense. I can RO a stage with everyone having muzzle brakes, and shoot the stage with a muzzle brake....and go home without my ears ringing at all.

I would use electronic muffs, but I cant STAND anything on the outside of my ears, and my cheekbones sit kinds high on my ugly mug, so the ear muffs tend to make contact with the buttstock.

I use Surefire plugs pretty much exclusively.  Only issue I've had with them was on the stage with the barrel barricades at Rockcastle last year.  The muzzle blast bouncing of those barrels left my ears ringing a little.

Surefire plugs with electronic muffs over the top. I can still hear conversation with the earmuffs on and I can completely drown out noise with them off. I have a friend who is just over 30 with ear damage from shooting with just plugs for years so I'm determined to protect my ears at all costs.

I have one of those huge containers of the disposable foam plugs at the house.  I then take 20-30 pairs and out them in my truck and all 5-10 range bags and gun cases so I always have a pair.  No plugs = no practice!!!  I also have a pair of peltor tactical sport muffs I wear over them always during rifle shooting and usually during all 3 guns especially in practice.

The Surefires are great for pistol and rifle shooting.  I've got to wear muffs for the rifle.  Tried the Surefires ONCE with the rifle, that was a mistake.  Put the muffs on over the plugs and all is well.
