I'm thinking it would be fun to shoot an m1 in heavy metal. How would I deal with stages where I hqve just a few shots and mqndatory reload?

get or make modded clips to hold the specified amount of rounds (like the 5 rounders made for hunting)

The only stages I've ever shot in 3 gun that require a mandatory reload are a few of the 3GN classifiers.  I say shoot the M1, enjoy it, and take the procedural on the classifiers.  Or you can just skip them and save the ammo.

Or you can hit the clip eject button on the left side of the receiver to dump the rounds remaining in the rifle.  And slap a fresh enbloc home.

I've shot my M1 a few times at local matches, it''s a lot of fun.

Or you can just eject a few rounds. Used to do that when I hunted with a Garand. I didn't have the 5 rounders so I would load an 8 and eject 3 rounds.

I've got a 2 round clip and single load adapter clip from when I used to shoot high power. I will figure something out. I so want to shoot a match with an M1.

We have a WWII class at our local matches. Garand, 1911 in 45 and 12 ga pump shotgun. We usually have 2-3 shooters in the WWII class each match. Shooting is heavy iron rules, one shot on paper neutralizes target.

Shooting a Garand in 3 gun is fun. You can get 7 in the rifle and ride the bolt over the top of the rounds for a cruiser ready start without too much trouble, it might be a little tougher with fewer rounds but it's worth a try.
