| i know I'm a long way from it but how do shooters get sponsored? Do they approach companies? Do they compete and then get asked? What is the process like for most sponsored shooters? |

Everyone's story is different. Some people prepare a resume and send it to any and everyone, looking for any sort of support they can get.
Others do not actively seek sponsorship but are offered opportunities by companies that are looking for a specific type of personality to represent them. You choose the path to follow. |
|
You get sponsors by getting yourself out there. If you want help from a company you have to give that company something in return. It maybe a logo on your shirt. A product review, a job as a writer, blogger, video producer etc. Very few sponsorships are just for shooting but the more you shoot and the more you win the easier it is to have comoanies notice you and see the value in you representing them from a marketing perspective.
Good luck! |

Do sponsors typically provide the type of gear they sell ie Ammo company provides ammo, optics company provides optics, and so on? Within the world of sponsorship, you'll find everything from discounts on product, to free t-shirts, to free product, to cash. It's all dependent upon the negotiations between the shooter/sponsor. |
