I have been shooting pistol matches, and the occasional small two or three-gun match, for a few years now.  I want to get more into the game, but have a question regarding equipment.  You see, I had three GSSF certificates that I chose to redeem for store credit, instead of more Glock pistols.  As of now, I have 1200 dollars in credit, and was going to pay the difference for whatever I purchased beyond that.  The problem is, for whatever reason, the store where I redeemed them will only place orders through specific manufacturers.  I had been planning on trying out a Vortex Razor HD, but they don't have an account with Vortex.  I didn't really have a "plan b" for what I would do with the credit, and I don't need any more Glocks at this point.

So far, the most appropriate gear I have accumulated includes an 18' JP15 (with the small BC comp), which I have been using with an EoTech.  Also, I have a G17 and a G34, both with no external modifications, except for Warren sights and grip tape (to comply with GSSF regs).  Finally, I have a stock Remington 1100 Tac 4, with only a bead sight.

As I stated before, my experience is limited to small, unaffiliated matches.  There was never any reloading of the shotgun, and rifle targets only went out to 100 yards.  The equipment I have been using has been adequate for that.  It seems, however, it would be slightly inadequate for higher-level competitions.

Given the above, does anyone have any recommendations as to what I might spend the store credit on?  I know ammo is always one of the first things that pops into mind, but I can get a better price on ammo elsewhere.  I understand that not all divisions allow magnified optics, but I would like to try.  If I were to go that route, though, I believe I would be limited to Leupold or Trijicon products at this store.  I haven't been extremely thrilled with the TR24s I have tried, and have heard mixed reviews of the Leupold offerings.  Another thing I was thinking is perhaps a different shotgun.  I shoot pretty well, but reloading the 1100 is slow, especially compared to what I have seen with other platforms.  Reloading it on the move, under duress, would be even worse.  I get a decent LE discount on Remington products, so I had though about trying a VersaMax, as it seems to be more mod-friendly in regard to reloading.  Other than these two options, which aren't even necessary, I can't really think of anything else to do with the money specifically as it would relate to 3-gun.

So, any advice on what to try?  Should I upgrade a little, or just find something else to use the money on?

See if the store can get a Vortex through one of the other regular suppliers, if not the Leupold has some ok scopes. Just not great reticules on them. That or get a shotgun, Benelli M2, Versamax or Beretta 1301.

Agreed - talk to the store manager and see if he'll special order the Vortex Razor.  I can virtually guarantee you'll be very happy with that optic.

The guy I spoke with is the owner's brother.  He just sort of looked at me with a bewildered look on his face.  A guy I work with has ordered a lot of stuff through them, and is on pretty good terms (they also have a contract with the city to supply us with ballistic vests and certain uniform items).  I suppose it wouldn't hurt to ask him if he could finagle something.

I am a bit hesitant to go the gun-flipping route.  It just seems like I would be looking for trouble, even if it isn't with the intent of profit.

I sell about 10 or more guns every year that I win.  There is nothing illegal or troublesome about it.  Glocks hold value.  Get them and sell them.

Your kit is solid.  Upgrade the shotgun to a Benelli and add a Burris Tac30 to the rifle and get out there.

I have the razor and I can say, best score I have ever looked through.
