Planning on doing my first hog hunt for my birthday and I cant decide which rifle to take with me. Ive got two ARs,  both sub moa capable, ones got a Leupold mark AR mod1 3-9  the others got a PA 1-6... just cant decide which one to take with me

I would use the 1-9 power. Where i hunt them you can get some closer shots and it's easier to get on quick with lower magnification. Make sure shot placement is good with a 5.56

Either will do with soft point ammo.
Neck shot = no track job

It seems like most shots are running, so whichever you can hit moving targets with. I would probably take the 1-6x.

Ive got federal fusion MSRs zeroed on both rifles. The outfitter Im looking at has blinds 75-100 yards away from feeders

1-6 should be fine.

If you gotta ask you need to go to the range. Always choose what you shoot best. Practice off of sticks and odd rest not the bench. Good Luck!

Bring both because it never hurts to have a back up.

I hunt with a 1-4 and fusions.

Unless you're shooting really far I wouldn't think you'll use all the magnification on your 1-6

I'd go with the 1-6x.

First hunt do you have a 6.8 or .308?  Neck shots with 5.56 don't always work.   Not trying to be Debbie downer hope you slay'em buddy.

556 is all I got right now.  I might end up pulling the barrel on one and going with a 6.5 Grendel

6.5 Grendel would be a much better choice than 5.56. A lot more knock down power. 5.56 can, has, and will kill hogs, but will leave less room for error and will require a better shot opportunity if u want to recover the hog with minimal tracking. Hogs move around a lot and don't often give the opportunity for that perfect easy shot.  Hog standing still under a feeder @ 75 yards, u will drop em with a well placed shot behind the bottom of the ear with those fusions in 5.56. Hogs on the run or moving will likely end up with less than perfect shot placement (maybe after your first shot the rest of the sounder take off and u follow up hoping to take out a few more). Those fusions should do considerably well (better than fmj) one well placed neck shot, but expect to do a lot of tracking or hear about buzzards the next day on a lot of the runners. I've heard the Barnes TSX are the way to go in 5.56. This all coming from a 6.8 fanboy. Best of luck!!
