Doing a hog hunt this weekend, and have a few questions about finding them.  The last time I had a chance to go on this land, there were a few spots that looked promising, a small pond, a dried up creek bed with obvious hog trails running in and out of it, and several deer feeders that looked like the fencing had been pushed through.  Last time we went hog hunting there (November time frame) we didn't have any luck, which area would you stake out and why if you only had 2 nights?  Or would you stake out one spot at all? Would it be better to move around the ranch on foot from spot to spot?

I only get to go to this ranch in the off seasons, lots of the members see pigs all the time during deer season and there is always pig shit laying around the creek beds.  Just need to find the damn things.

Man don't feel bad, Nov. and April are the hardest months..acorns then spring time.
I'd check the deer feeders there might be corn on the out side of the hog fence, if so add some more corn around it.
You can go back -n- forth from feeder to feeder but I would not go traipsing all over, stay far away from the pig scat...they are prolly beded down near there and you could move them out.
Don't go scouting...go in hunting and you could drop corn trail towards a feeder but don't put bait everywhere..too many places to hunt that way.
This is a good time to hunt...they have just started to bring the piglets out, getting ready to let them go wild eating the new food that spring brings.
Hunting is hunting just have fun.

Thanks for the tips.  I'm looking forward to the trip.  I'll try the corn trails to the feeder some, I'll also probably try dumping some wet corn with some old fruit on it next to the feeders.  I've heard that works well bringing them in.

Don't introduce anything such as fruit, strange things to the area...it will spook them for several days. Keep it simple work your in slow, dropping corn..watch behind you. then you can hunt your way back out.
