I forgot to post these when it happened, but here they are. Shot up a bunch of hogs this spring in Lyons, Ga.

One good sized one and 4 little squealers in one morning between myself and another fella.

I was shooting my GeorgiaCarry.org AR15 that I built.
2 headshots, 2 dead piggies.

We had originally intended to hunt in January, but one of the guys that was booked on the trip had some heart trouble and needed time to recover.

That is great.  I have hunted all my life in the Dakotas but only foul, deer, and varmints.  Always wanted to hog hunt but they don't run wild around here.  Good to see someone else bringing home the bacon.

What do you usually do with them after you get them?  Just curious how you butcher them and how they taste.

My Cheap set-up:

Optic: Bushnell Banner Dusk and Dawn  1-4x  with the circle / crosshair reticule. (Shotgun Scope)

This one.

Rifle: GCO Lower, DPMS LPK, DPMS Bolt and carrier, DTNC Compensator,  1/9 Heavy barrel . Upper(minus compensator) is built by a guy in Alabama that sells them at the local gun shows here, been using his uppers for many moons without a hiccup. Magpul MOE handgaurds, hand-made low-pro gas block.

Ammo: 55gr Soft Points from Wally World.

Thanks for the info.Nothing wrong with cheap set up as long as it works, and looks to me like it does! How do you like the shotgun scope?I'm looking for a budget scope, low power, compact type myself. It will be going on an AR.I know sometimes you get what you pay for.Any drawbacks to it being a "shotgun"scope instead of rifle scope? Most of my shots here are 100 yds and less.Mostly deer hunting but if a hog or coyote come by well you know.

I really like it. I killed a deer using it, and am going to shoot a match this fall with it on the rifle. I really like the reticule.

Doesn't seem any different than using a regular riflescope to me, and I'm sure it takes less of a beating on an AR than it would on a 12 Gauge.

Looks like you got a truck load, they are very clean looking and eating size.  The ones around here like to get in the mud.  Those are good scopes,  I have 2 on ARs with the duplex.
