Shooting started at 7. We had 12 shooters and by 7:15 we had over half of our limit This morning didn't start off as good but we had 20 teal and one pin tail within about an hour. I finally shot a Canada and then got one more not long after around 2PM The weather was cold and rainy this morning but had some decent luck. One goose I brought home |

| We went grouse/hun hunting in MT last week. After walking the state in the morning and afternoon, the outfitter had layout blinds set up for duck right before sundown. Both days we blasted a limit of Mallards in under 15 minutes. Dogs would not be back from the retrieves before the next flight would come in. |

Rub it in why don't ya. How I love to see them wings cupped and them red legs stretched out when the ducks are getting ready to land in the decoys. I get a chubby just thinking about it!!!! |

Had opening day today. Didn't go as planned ![]() Sounds like our september season here. It was way to warm out, not a goose in the sky, the season closed and now they are all over the place. |

It's supposed to be dropping down into the 30's and 40's here soon. Hopefully that helps us out It's 32 and snowing in northern WI right now. I and a partner hunted Sat & Sun. Not a shot fired Sat. All we saw was one flock of divers, down low, very early, but lots of smallish flocks (10-15) of puddle ducks up high and headed south, starting about an hour after shooting time. No geese, until we were loading up our boat to leave about 10am, when 4 honkers came by, just out of range.... to say "goodbye... suckers". Happens all the time... no matter what time you quit, 15 minutes later, a "fuck you guys" flock comes by. I swear I see the leader give us a single feather bird version, of "the bird". Sunday was worse.... saw the same small flock of divers at the same time, and one lone mallard came into our decoys at 8am. One shot by my partner, splashed it. Never saw another duck, not low nor high, we quit at 11am to go watch football. Using binoculars, we could see about 10 other hunters around the lake, and we didn't hear 15 shots fired from all of them, all morning. Hardly any shooting on other lakes nearby, so it's not just us having a terrible season.
This is by far, our most dissapointing season ever... so far.

Quoted: We got a few here. It's open in my region for another 4 days, then not again until November. It opens up at my friends house about 40 minutes away though on the 26th, so we will go over there for that opener. Still too warm, we didn't see any mallards. A good pile of wood ducks flying way too high and a few mergansers. My friend with the first duck of the 2013 season, hit him around 7am flying upriver. http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u576/sitdwnandhngon/temporary_zps665d63a0.jpg The aftermath of one of them, my supper two nights ago. Bloody delcious wood duck. http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u576/sitdwnandhngon/temporary_zps6baa3289.jpg |
