I just picked up a new 20ga Benelli ultralight and I'm looking for suggestions on a shell to use on doves next Thursday.

I use the cheap ones sold in bulk at wally world, #7, 7 1/2, I think.

Remington Sport Loads 7/8 oz 71/2 shot should be just fine. Just make sure to test some out to make sure they'll cycle your Benelli. I use these as well as my own reloads in my Weatherby over under.

I hunt a state wildlife management area some of the time and have to use steel (which I hate). For steel I use Winchester Xpert 3/4 oz #6 or Federal Game & Target 3/4 oz #7, 1425 FPS.

You're already putting too much thought into it.

Whatever cycles the gun is fine for dove.
