(reposting from the TExas HTF) You guys using decoys on the birds? On properties with limited numbers of birds, the decoys will draw them in like flies. Here's the way I did it (sorry, no pics). 1. Google Image search for 'mourning dove' Locate an image, or two that has a clean profile of a mourning dove on a limb/roost. Copy the image in to MS Paint. Erase the background clutter (limbs/leaves/etc.) Copy the image and paste a mirror image. (so you have left and right views now) Scale it up/down to be 1:1 to actual size. Print on a color laser printer (never tried black and white) Get a piece of cardboard and trace the bird's profile. Cut out the cardboard and glue the bird images to it. To secure to a fence, I used a paperclip and a clothespin (little hot glue held the clothespin to the paperclip) The paper clip was a nice pivot point for the decoy-birds, and it left them turn like a weather vane. Seriously. I would sit in a chair near water and a lone tree. No camo on me. I had about 8 of these homemade decoys. I would limit out in about an hour when they were coming to water in teh evening. They would decoy hard enough to break thier necks when they saw the cardboard/Google Doves.
