I just have to say this. I recently fled the oppression of communist NY and made it to the great "republic of TX" hell yea! I finally have land and can hunt & shoot on my own property. So I have been predator hunting now for 3 months with no luck (night hunting).
Last night I was on one of my back porches and I heard that familiar howl while having my smoke, I did a close distress call to hear them coyotes go nuts, but wait off the porch by the woods I see an out of place shape, my 22 mag or hornet is usually by me, so I pick it up and yep there he/she is perfect broadside in my light; the eyes glowing green and he we go "click" of the loud safety I never fixed from 20yrs ago from the timney sear & spring I installed. I do all kinds of large or small gun smithing projects but never seem to finish the "little" ones. So it cost me my first coyote. Needless to say I had to have another cig! So today I am fixing my loud, hard safety while not that loud its enough when at night you could hear a pin drop. The predators can hear it especially at less than 25yds! Just had to get this off my chest, I am stilling kicking myself this day! So fix those little projects, you never know when they might really matter!!!!! |
