Good job. It's like this is the year of the bobcat or something. Everyone is seeing them, and shooting them.
It's a treat, that's for sure. It's fun to show them to people that have never seen a bobcat in real life before too. Most folks go their whole life, and don't get to see one. |

That looks like a pretty big bobcat too. What are you going to do with it?
I have an Uncle that had one made ito a rug (mounted head with fir out like a rug like you would do with a bear) and it is mounted on the wall in a reck room. It really looks great. Here in PA I have only seen a bobcat once, and that was in early Archery season. |

Had a nice surprise this morning when I went out coyote calling. This guy was up on a mound next to me looking down at my call and looking back at me. He sat for a good minute, enough time for me to get my phone out and make sure it's the season for bobcats (never bothered keeping track of the dates). He just sat there, perched up watching the area with the call until I decided to go ahead and take a shot. He knew I was there because he looked over at me several times, must have been waiting to see if I was going down to the rabbit in distress or not. I really enjoyed this part of your story. I know some good taxidermists in AZ, but none in your area. I'll contact a guy I know in Willcox and another in Safford and see what they can tell me. |

lol I felt like an idiot, but luckily the cat wasn't in a hurry to leave. I asked around at work and got a name of a taxidermist near Benson, turned out to be more than I expected to pay but the other pieces he has in his shop are really nicely done. Based on my experience, here's a good idea of prices in regards to good quality prices for bobcats and similar predators/animals. -Hide tan: $100 -Rug: $400-$500 -Pedestal shoulder mount: $300-$400 -Full body: $600-$900 -Full body w/ art, landscape, or odd posture: $1000-$1300 |
