I've never messed with skinning any animals other than when I'm going to eat them.  However, I came across a tannery online that will tan coyote hides for $22 each.  That sounds like a pretty good deal and I'd like to have a couple just as wallhangers.  On the site it said you can salt or trapper dry the hides.  What is the difference between the 2 and which is easier?  Also, will I need to invest in some fleshing equipment if I'm going to send in some hides?

My buddy and I haven't had much luck this year but I figure things will pick up once there is some snow on the ground.

If I ever get a beautiful animal I'll want to have the hide tanned too. In my area, scabies is rampant on fox (which is easily transmitted to people and pets by the way) so I don't mess with those.
We do have some beautiful coyotes up in PA where I hunt, so hopefully I'll connect soon.
