Brought this gun home from the smith this morning and got this little wasscaaaawey wabbit this afternoon.

I loaded up some 240gr 44 special, which is subsonic, so you can hear the impact pretty well.  It's even quieter than my suppressed 10/22 with subsonics; with the added benefit that it hits kind of like a truck.  This was about 35yds straight through the necessaries.  Sounded like a baseball bat hitting a watermelon.

Just kinda folded in half and tipped over sideways.  The sound and the big poof of fur was the best though.  I've got a real cool barn cat at home so I brought the bunny up to the house and now Angus has got a new chew toy that should last a day or so...

I should be getting my 300blk rifle back from the 'smith here in the next week or so hopefully.  I sent them my old SPS-V in 223 and he's putting a 16" 300 blackout barrel on there from Montana Rifle Company.  That one should hopefully be able to thwack 'em quietly out to at least a couple hundred yards hopefully.  I loaded up a mess of 220gr SMK's to take care of the local coyotes and nutria and all that.

Hey, you went to Doug's long range class, right?  If you've still got my email, and a few moments, could you send me your opinions/thoughts on it and what prep I need to do to make the most of it?

Nice.

The barn cat reminds me of the summer I spent on my granddads ranch in Montana. I spent all day shooting birds, the barn cats ate real good that summer!

Yah, I've had cats that would sit and watch me shoot birds out of the trees and then bee-line it for the fallen carcass; lunch is served...

So I think Angus is into some funky stuff here.  I found him "wrestling" with the dead bunny last night and then this morning there was just a head left on the back doormat.  Is he trying to send a message?  Like the horsehead in Godfather?  My wife didn't think it was very funny...    Most of the barn cats aren't real friendly, but Angus is a great little guy; loves to jump on my lab and grab his head even though he's 100 lbs heavier.
