| I educated two coyotes this weekend. I only saw two the entire weekend and was eager to get one. I guess I should be happy I saw them (they looked like a mating pair) considering they had made me and were sneaking off at 400 yards away from me. Needless to say, I shot at one since I didn't want to go home empty handed, and they took off like a rocket after I missed. I want to apologize and let everyone know that I'll try not to miss in the future. As a side note, I heard the coyote hunting around Comanche National Grasslands was better than average, but I saw mostly cows and pronghorn out there (and two prairie dog towns). Was I lied to or was it me? |
| I moved to Colorado Springs three years ago. I tried the grasslands because I'm originally from Kansas and thought I would have better luck in an environment similar to what I've hunted in previously. Apparently the coyotes didn't care that this land felt familiar to me, it was their home turf and they beat me. I'm gonna try going solo this weekend somewhere closer to the mountains. |
