I have a lot of coyotes around my property but have never really hunted coyotes. I know I have a lot them because first I see 3-4 at a time when they wake me up at different hours of the night howling and yelping. Then when I go out I will hear a bunch start calling like crazy then another group will start and then another group. I have downloaded calls onto my MP3 player but I can't hunt at night without a permit. I have tried to call just after sun up then on a different day I will call close to sun down. I get no response at all. If I could hunt at night I could probably just sit on my front porch and shoot as they go by.

What should I do different?

I would start with getting the permit.  Use a red filter over a spotlight.  You will see them coming from farther away than you will want to shoot.  If you really have that many yotes and you are out there calling, my guess is they are seeing you and not stepping into the open where you can see them.  Where I hunt the yotes are more vocal at night than during the day.  They sneak in alot more during the day whereas at night they will often bark or howl back.  SO no vocal response doens't mean they didn't see you come in and setup, or maybe even saw movement when you were calling.

I usually hunt them in the late afternoon with a 22 mag. I'm decked in camo and set for hours, before seeing them.

TRYING USING RED FOX URINE, ONCE THEY WIND IT DRIVES THEM CRAZY.

I'm in Winter Garden, but hunt all over the state.
