I am new to hunting with a muzzleloader, I bought a CVA with a removable breach plug. Here's is my guestion. After a trip out hunting and I get back to the car with my gun loaded, can I simply remove the primer and leave the powder and sabot loaded? Is that safe? Or should I push it all out of the gun? Please let me know what you do. Thank you.

Yes, just remove the primer.

Just remove the primer....  That is considered "unloaded" in most states I believe.  It will be fine.  I leave mine loaded, but unprimed, for the full week of ML season.  If you go the season without firing, pull the breech plug, knock the bullet out the breech, and simply run an oiled rag up the bore.  Its good.

If you have fired the rifle, then you likely want to clean the rifle.

I leave mine loaded during the season as well. Just shoot it at the end of last day if I haven't taken anything.

I leave mine loaded all season.  Just remove the primer when not in the field.

One thing I will tell you is that you should try to not let the gun have too huge of temperature swings, which can create moisture.  I leave mine in my insulated, but unheated, garage all season never taking it into the warm house.
