[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Electronic calls

I got one awhile back and noticed it has some preprogrammed Deer calls and hunts on it. I tried it in the Woods yesterday No luck but it was pretty windy. It is loud! you can crank the volume which is probabaly good for predators, but not so much for deer.

Anyone using one?

Experience?

How loud is too loud?

Illegal in IL. Honestly I think I've scared more deer of what calling than I've brought in. I usually just set my stands better and wait. About the only call I use anymore is the can call.

The right sounds at the right time and they are $$$! Too much too soon and they will oil your hunt.

Start low and slow and build up to a realistic level.
