Ok here is my poll question...If you could bow hunt in any location in the US for white tail where would it be and why?  I m talking "Dream Hunt".  Im getting started thinking about next years hunting trip and trying to pick my location.  My brother lives in INDIANA and this year we had decent deer encounters seeing deer every day and even a few big deer....but we are both thinking about taking the show on the road...Where would you go and why?

Looks like I live in the dream state for bow hunting..

Thats a new one

My 'dream hunt' wouldn't involve a bow and arrow, nor whitetails.

YMMV, obviously....

edit: But you didn't ask for that.

Make your 'dream hunt' something you'll enjoy but also be able to do again, maybe not every year, but semi-consistently.

I went elk hunting this year and while it was fun, I'm not sure I can afford it every year, and I'd love to go back to that spot - now that I know the lay of the land - and explore it more closely.

Iowa.  Close second would be Illinois.

I live in MO, but deffinitly would have to go to KS or Iowa. I voted KS, because I have seen some absolute monsters that some of my friends have taken

Since Saskatchewan is not an option, I chose Iowa.  I am blessed to be a KS resident but the question was about traveling so...Iowa.

Wisconsin has the most B&C entries over the years........

That being said, I live in one of the best counties in S. MI. for big rack bucks, and I am content hunting right here @ home.

Corn belt, genetics and low pressure.

Proven track records for Popes/Booners.

You forgot the milk river of Wyoming...........

Virginia,  Why because I live here.  No sense driving half way across the country to do what I can do in my back yard.

I voted Indiana because I live here and know that we have great bowhunting opportunities here. Indiana is the biggest sleeper state as far as big bucks are concerned. A decade ago, Indiana was lucky to have a harvest of 2 or 3 B&C bucks a year. Now hunters are killing 20+ a year here!

Your brother living here makes it even easier for you to hunt. But, if you have your mind set on hunting elsewhere, I'd say Illinois or Iowa.

Not Iowa  I hear the hunting is terrible

Texas, My Ranch
Already have an 18 pt that scored 158 7/8 and a 12pt that scored 163 3/4

I passed up a young buck that would have been in the low 150s with a bow this year.
I have seen some other young guns but I have been hoping to shoot an older buck that might break into the 180s class.

All that being said this land is not high fenced, no protein feed and is only hunted by a few people. Why would I go anywhere else when I dont have to pay to hunt

Either way I have to travel.  Im in Nevada and drove all the way to Indiana this year.  It was great.  Dont get me wrong.  I saw alot of deer (by my standards) with at least 2 or 3 deer coming into my stand within bow range almost every day.  I passed on numerous 4 and 6 points.  I got 2 shots at a nice 8 point (that I blew) after hunting for a solid month.  As a first time bowhunter Im not sure if that is good/poor average etc.  So I was wondering if there were better places to try or I should just stick with hunting IN with my bro.
He has been itching to get to Kansas for years and has mentioned that as a possibility.
He took a nice 130s class deer, last year, with his bow in Indiana.  So they have some nice deer there, just not that many 150s walking around.  (at least not that we saw)

Anyone try a public land hunt in say Iowa or Kansas?  I don't know anyone who lives in those states so Id probably end up on public land.  (Cant afford one of those pay to play set ups where you pay 5000 or 10,000 bucks depending on the size of the deer you kill)  That is unless one of you local farm owners wanna invite a fellow ar15 er out there to hunt...hint hint

i didn't vote because my dream spot wasn't on there. my dream spot is the one i own. i love hunting for many reasons and while trophies are nice, they are not my goal for hunting. i'll drop a fat doe just as quickly as most folks would drop a trophy buck. so my dream place is my own place(which i don't have yet). i just want some land i can call my own and hunt on. it's a dream of mine that i hope i can make a reality in a few years, but right now, it's still a dream.

Well, I live and bow hunt in Ohio.  My best deer yet scored 144" and it came off my own property.  Ohio would be first on my list , but since I live here I don't think that counts.  My dream hunt involves a chocolate racked Booner in Saskatchewan or Alberta, but that's not a choice either.  I think the real sleeper is in Nebraska.  Over the counter Mule deer and Whitetail tags give you the opportunity to take both.  I would love to spot and stalk mule deer with my bow

Nebraska is the best kept secret in the midwest. I have hunted Kansas and Illinois and would take Nebraska over either.
