Family Land and firends

Beyond that it really depends on where you are, if you are in a city drive out to the area you want to hunt and find a feed store or ranch supply store and ask around. Or come out West we have public land too.

My uncle owns a ranch in Graham.  We just go there if we want to hunt in Texas.  We are fortunate to have the ability to do that.

In East Texas, the loggers know everyone and like beer.

I see them listed on Craig's List or the Austin Statesman.

At one time most of your county chamber of commerce offices would have a list... doesn't seem to be the case anymore. But give it a try.

As was said already friends and family.

I used to lease my land out to friends and relatives for free or really cheap.  Had to put a stop to that because of how many people don't respect the property.

Friends can still hunt there if I'm with them but I don't let them put up campers or any semi-permanent structures on it.

its getting hard to find land to hunt, most of my friends have sold their land due to layoffs. ive looked at a few spots around dfw but every one thinks deer hunting is gold and charge1000-1500 to hunt 3 does with no bucks on less than 30 acres

Unfortunately deer land is 10.00 and up/acre.  Look into the public hunts through TP&W.  Most are on private land and hunting is usually good.

It's pretty easy to find them along the country roads at night. Hold the light just right and they will just stand there

Sometimes that may be cheaper than leasing. The price of leases have gone out of sight in the last few years, and the farmers and ranchers are taking full advantage. I thought the economy would shake a few loose, but the ones I see are still too expensive.

Sonetimes Craigslist, or cruise the want ads in the smaller papers online. Good luck...fullclip
