Gosh damn, son of a bitch, cock suckin mutha fucka, barbra strisand ass ramming goat fucker. Decided to go ahead and take some camp meat. Drew down, bamn, then the entire hill erupted with deer. I just missed plain n simple. Perhaps one day I will learn how to fuckin shoot. To add insult to injury, after I looked for blood I went back to my stool and immediatly got busted again by a deer on the other side of creek! Fuuuuuk stick ass licker.

| I killed 4 deer last year. I probably missed 7. I even missed the same nice buck twice. I get too damned excited. I blame my father for making me go to boy scouts when we should have been killing deer. I still get too fucking excited when im in my stand and I just cant settle down and make the shot count. The last one I missed was just fate. I sat on the ground facing the tree line anticipating the deer to come out on my right(im left handed and could have thrown the gun right up and nailed him) but he came out about 15 yards on my left where I was not covered very welll so I couldnt turn around to get a shot. instead I slowly turned the shotgun around in my lap so I could try and shoot him right handed.(probably not ethical and I will never be this stupid again). I squeeze off a shot and clean miss. He runs about 10 yards and stops behind a tree and looks at me with his head and neck sticking out from behind the tree. I shoot again and see a nice tight pattern knock all the bark off the tree about 6 inches from nailing him. He scampered off into the woods never to be seen again. i was ashamed to go home as i knew the whole family could here me shooting. |

Yep I waited to long to shoot. I wasn't going to take the deer, but I wanted to use my new m&p15r. If I would have just pulled up n shot, I probably would have scored! I'm back in the area now, so perhaps this time I will actually hit something other than a tree. It is to be noted that 5.45 will blow pine branches off a tree.... I feel your pain on knowing that camp will hear the shooting and expect something. I'm usually the dead eye of the family! Fortunatly no one else scored either. We have all killed at least one this year so far. The rut is in full retard mode, and there has been very little shooting today (opening gun day). Should be a good week! | My in laws have 430 acres a couple hours from me. My ass will planted in my summit viper from 530am to 530 pm monday. I better freakin come up with somethin. I am yet to go into the woods by myself and come out with a deer. I have only killed deer while running dogs or while out hunting with friends and family. I want the satisfaction of walking through the woulds at 5am by myself then taking a nice buck at sun up. I have had several oportunities but have blown them all. I have a good feeling about monday. |
| I also blew my chance at my buck this year so far. I have been hunting since september atleast once a week and just was able to get a shot on a buck last week. He came in stopped 20 yards away so i let the arrow fly. I watched it shave the hair off his back. Get dowm to a pile of hair and a clean arrow. I was so pissed, still am. The fucked up part it i have been huntng with my bow the longest (since about 12 or 13 years old and now 26) and never killed anything with it. Killed a couple with the guns just not the bow. He was a pretty nice six. I have up uintil monday to kill my bow deer then gun season starts. Hopefully there will be some bucks left on the public land i hunt in january when bow season comes back into season |

| Eh, I missed the hell out of one two seasons ago. I was standing by a powerline cut looking down a mountain in WV, my scope was cranked up to 10X as I was anticipating a long shot. I didn't know that two deer were sneaking up right behind me. By the time I knew they were there, they were only five yards behind me. I just threw my rifle up and fired, no need trying to find the crosshairs at that distance, it would have been a lost cause. I missed, and they hauled ass out of there. |

My funniest one (that my pop still talks about) was when I was around 17 or so.
Dad was walking trying to push some deer to us kids and sure enough he pushes a couple of does our way. I pull up and shoot only to see deer to go running off looking like they were not hit at all. Dad finally comes out and we go take a look to see if we can find blood. Nope not a drop, we did however find a fresh strip of bark so I must have hit a tree. Dad spent three hours down there looking for where I hit the tree. When he came up he looked at me and said "I know you hit a tree, but it had to be so far up in the branches that I can't find even where you scraped the bark off. Do me a favor and next time you get the urge to shoot a tree, aim a little lower". All I can figure out is that I must have pulled the trigger as I was coming down instead of waiting until I was actually on target, yep I probably killed 7 people in the next state over by sending that bullet up in the atmosphere with no guidance. |
