I got my first muzzleloader kill today.. Looked outside behind the house and saw a doe hanging out around some trees so I grabbed my ML and headed out the side door.. I got beside the house and rested the gun on our propane tank and watched her browsing around for a while. She finally gave me a clear shot and I took it..
She ran off, along with 3 others that I hadnt seen.. Reloaded the ML and went to look for blood and didnt find any where she was standing or along where she ran.. Followed them back into the woods and spooked the others again and then i saw her down on the ground.. I had hit her back farther than I thought, but there was blood all around her where she dropped.. While gutting her I saw I got a double lung hit but the bullet did not expand much (if any) at all.. I am shooting a T/C Triumph with 250gr Hornady XTP's with 90 gr of Black Mag 3.. Pics to follow.. Time to go back out and get started processing her.. Brian |
