Plan on using my AR for deer this year. It has an eotech on it. I have a 10/22 that came with a scope. I was wondering if that scope would  hold a zero on the AR? Chances are I would only be taking a couple shots at most. I believe the scope is a tasco but says Ruger on it. It works great on the 10/22. Thanks.

Kind of depends upon the scope.

If it's a rimfire model scope it will have the parallax set for 50 yards instead of 100.  Not a huge deal, but might cause you some sight in issues if you shoot at 100 yards.  It also may not be made for the recoil of centerfire guns, but the AR15 doesn't have a lot of recoil.

I'm wondering why you don't leave the Eotech on the AR?  You should be able to place your shots just fine on a deer out to 200 yards with one.   IF NC deer hunting is anything like here in VA you won't have that many long range shots to take.  Longest shot I've ever taken on a deer here in VA was 111 yards, and that was with a handgun that had a 1.5x scope on it.

You could also get a shotgun scope for it - however I'd be inclined just to use the EOTech as well if you are going to be 100 & in.

Most likely I was going to go with the eotech. I don't have any scopes except that one and was wondering about its usefullness on an AR with it being a rimfire scope. Thanks .

The only Tasco .22 LR scope I could find was this one:

That's probably their 3-9 rifle scope with the parallax readjusted to 50 yards.  If you sight in at 50 yards you would be fine, just means your head position is a bit more critical at 100 yards.  If you feel you really need a scope, it would probably make do, but it's a cheap scope, you could buy a Tasco 3-9X Pronghorn for $50.

It looks like that one but I don't think it has the adjustable piece. If I am going to buy something I am going to buy something decent. So right now I will use what I have.
