I've never hunted.  Dad and mom divourced when I was 11 and I never had a father figure around that did.  So here I am, 26 and wanting to learn.  I have a couple of family members that have gone and several friends at work that are willing to take me.

I need advice on weapons and gear.  Weapons I have:

Arsenal SLR 107 CR with Ultimak gas tube and micro aimpoint.  I'm leaning toward this with Corbon's DPX round or some soft points.
WASR-10 with big dots
Sabre 16" m4 with TA31F
F-class rig (15 lbs of Remington 700 PSS .308 Win. action with Shilen 26" barrel, trued, in a McMilan stock.  1/2 MOA to 600, 1 MOA to 1k.  Mark IV 3.5-10x40.)
870 with 18.5" smooth barrel with rifle sights.
I also have access to a surplus SMLE Enfield .303 Brit that would need to be clean and checked out.  It's been sporterized, so I'm sure it's good to go.

I'm kicking around getting a Marlin 336 in .30-30, but I'd love to get either a 6.8 spc or a 6.5 Grendal to show the flag so to speak with a black rifle to my fudd family.  However, money is an issue.

Misc. gear:  I have plenty of cold weather gear and gortex left over from the Army, so I think I'm good on that.  Any thing you all would recommend?

Thanks for the help guys!

I'd do the 6.8.  It will show the flag, and change a FUD's mind on black rifles.  Just dont go overboard on the extras and set it up as a shooter.

I believe that's a no-no in TN.  At least over a certain amount.

Pick which ever rifle you are most comfortable with.  Place a bonded core or monolithic (Barnes TSX) bullet designed for hunting deer sized animals in the vitals.  Eat venison.
