I have an S7 noise floor on 40, but I'll give it a shot in a couple.

I think this was the first time I was copied directly by NC! Usually I need a relay.

Wow, band conditions deteriorated fast.  I could hear NC 5x9 during check in but now I can barely copy him.

I have an S9 noise floor on 80m tonight, but NC is booming.

Thanks for running the net, Gyprat!

I just joined on 80m, NC is at least 5x8 for me tonight.
Probably the best I've ever heard the NC.

Thanks Gyprat!

14 check-ins on 40 meters.

6 check-ins on 80 meters.

Thanks for your participation.

QRN was terrible tonight.

I was really happy to be able to make it in on both bands. I had S9 noise on 80m, but you were well over it and easy copy.  I never knew my 72’ wire would work so well on 80m.   Been a ham for almost 60 years now, and still figuring out how this stuff works.

Just a heads up. I may not be able to run the next net from my home station. I'll try to run it from a portable setup but it's obviously not as good as the home station.

I'm all set for the net. Got a portable, 30 ft mast installed with several dipoles in Inverted V configuration.  Only 100 watts from an IC7300 but so far I've made several contacts with good reports.
My new solar setup in the travel trailer is working great. No need for the generator anymore.

Net Control is switching over to 80 meters and will post on the forum as soon as he is operational for anyone who would like to check in.

He is out in the wilderness and needs a few minutes to make some antenna changes.

Please watch for his post in about 10 minutes.

You were 59 in Fort Lauderdale.  I have to play a bit more with the remote SDR.

I use these remote SDR sites all the time due to the poor band conditions. These remote receive sites really help when I want to really hear something.

Ha, The 2m would still work but the folded dipole is done.
I took both ends down yesterday when the ice started so I think it will be ok.
I was a little too slow, the ice jammed the pully so couldn't drop the center.

yikes.

those look like fiberglass camo poles. Is that what they are?

Did the supports snap to bend that much?

asking because I live in the north east and use aluminium camo poles as part of a 50 foot mast guyed with paracord and we get ice storms.

Aluminum.. The problem is that I have a limited area for guy lines so they are at too high of and angle to support it best. I think if they were at about 45 deg. it would have been ok.
Ill upgrade to a guy free tower someday...

I'm actually home in time to participate this evening. The only problem is that 40 meters has been very unkind to me here lately. I'll stick around and see if I hear anyone. Doesn't look very promising. The spectrum scope is flat.
