I heard various stations well. I just worked Serbia and Italy on 3792. Less qrm down there.
Lightning static is slightly high tonight... |

We had 10 check-ins on 40 meters and 9 check-ins on 80 meters. Strong QRM from 3.927 but thankfully I was on my FTDX3000 and was able to use it's powerful filters.

View Quote I had to use the bandpass shift. It worked great. 2kc from them was ok for copying strong stations. They are too wide! Overdriven rig into an amp=LID world. Lots of splatter. |

Just popping in to say hello. Studying for my technician license, playing with a baofeng.
Maybe I'll be one of the cool kids one day. |

I'll try to sling my little sloper even higher this week, maybe I'll be able to hear you guys next Tuesday. Doubtful, but one never knows until you try. I really need to get a couple dipoles up.

I too was getting hammered by the guys that were just below us. I played with the filters and got a lot of the qrm removed but it was still present. XYL called so missed you guys going up. I was getting a lot of good signals on 80m tonight. Got off work too late to catch 40m. Will have to settle for a qso with one of you after the net or something.

Net tonight?
80 or 40m? Standard frequency from the list? ETA: SNAP, wrong day |

hearing your CQ. Andrei is coming in strong - most of the rest are pretty week
Can't hear Andrei, but Bruce is always strong here.

If its broke. I can fix it. If it doesn't exist. I can make it. If its metal.
Will try to get off work in a few and check into 40m

S9 noise here. Not even worth trying, all I hear is static.
Got in on 40m but weak here with a mobile setup
40M is long here tonight, NC is buried deep in the weeds but all the stations in TX and further west were strong.
Stand by. Trying to find a freq on 80m

Was doing something else and almost missed the net but made it in at the end!

Bad propagation to Oregon at the moment on 3.864. I hear convo but it’s all unintelligible.

Decent net tonight. Propagation was decent but noisy (QRN).
We had 12 check-ins on 40 meters. 15 check-ins on 80 meters. CJK must have been running a 20 kW amp on 40 meters. Anyone know how to repair a bent S-meter needle on my FTDX3000d radio? I also want to welcome Weaponeer1911's son who checked in for the first time tonight. Thanks to you all for participating! 73 & 87! |

You simply take it out, put it on an anvil, and pound it out with a hammer until it's straight. |

Running the same 500w as always. Link to 20kw amp please. |

I put up a SteppIR Urbanbeam last summer. It does 6-40m and so far really liking it. Getting great signal reports on most bands and its only at 35’. It was a tough choice between this and a hexbeam.
Also have a myantennas.com 80-10 end fed half wave. It does ok on the higher bands but I really only use it for 80m. Its installed as a sloper at 30’ down to 20’ high. Both driven by a 500w Elecraft amp and Icom 7300. |

I haven’t been able to convince myself to install the 70’ telescoping tilt over tower yet, so I put it on top of a telephone pole I had laying around. Attached File

The 70’ tower can probably wait, especially considering the wide open spaces around you |

That thing is a BEAST and it seems to work well for you.
For some reason I thought you had a hexbeam. Have we done a shack picture thread yet? |
