There seems like there should be an app for this but I can't find it. Whether APRSdroid will do this seems inconclusive when I look it up.
Anybody else? I've got a spare Android phone laying around and I'd like to not buy a cheap Windows tablet if I don't have to. |

APRSdroid will not. The developer pretty much threw up his hands and called it quits on APRSdroid because of a bunch of hams complaining that the app would "ruin APRS" somehow by allowing non-ham operators to access the system. Though from looking at it, I can't see how. I am not aware of any other android apps that would function as an iGate or digipeater. If there were, I'd gladly pay for such an app. It would be awesome to be able to put together a neat little APRS iGate or SatGate station consisting of nothing more than a handheld and an old android phone running on solar. |
