I won a used Ramsey frequency counter at the local club meeting on Sunday.

The AC adapter has had the radish and will not stay plugged into the wall.

I want o replace the adapter, but I cannot find what the supplied voltage should be to the unit.

I searched the internet, before I contact Ramsey I figured I would ask here.

thanks in advance.

ETA, I cannot read anything on the adapter because it is covered in years old duct tape!

A quick search showed someone saying it takes four AA batteries so I'd venture to say that it needs 6vdc.
"The manual I have now downloaded, specifically refers to using 4 x AA Nicad's, (ie 1.2v per cell) "

It has 4, what I would assume to be rechargeable AA batteries in it. I did quickly scan the manual but did not see the operating voltage.

Thank for the help

Does the adapter still work at all?  Use a power strip so gravity will hold it in the socket and take a voltage reading with your multimeter.

I have a CT-125 somewhere in storage which may be similar.  According to the documentation, it takes 8 to 15 volts AC/DC at 250ma.  The schematic shows an AC input into a full wave rectifier.
