I'm seeing today (for the first time) messages like:

CQ KxxxxM EL87 !U.ted States

In wsjt-x

Obviously, they don't want contacts from United States =- question is, how'd they do that on a 13 character xmission?

ETA: BTW, this is funny because they're transmitting on 7076, the USA JT65 frequence, 7039 (as I have read) is 'worldwide'

That just indicates where they are calling from, not where they want contacts.

You have one of the boxes ticked in the WSJT-X options to display the country of the callsign calling.  It is auto populated by the program based on the callsign prefix and is not RX'd over the air.  It will also tell you if you've worked that country or callsign before based on the color and symbol before the country.

I have found that many people use the 7076 freq, even in EU.

Yep. Here is the color/symbol meaning from the help files.

! (bright green) — New DXCC entity

~ (mid green) — You have already worked this DXCC entity but not this station

(dull green) — You have previously worked the calling station

Though, in looking for the wording they used, I did learn something new myself.
This program option (selected on the Settings | General tab) is intended mostly for use on non-Windows platforms. Windows users should use VK3AMA’s excellent JT-ALERT-Xutility instead.

I think I'll give this a try!

I'm really not lazy, I guess that the wsjt-x documentation contained all this information, correct?

RTFM is my own mantra, sorry guys (but thanks for the answers - very enlightening)

Hey no sweat  I'd been using the program for over a year before discovering those features.  They are very useful.
Have fun on JT65!

I also found that JT Alert will automatically update my DXKeeper logbook after WSJT-X logs a contact.

It's a handy feature! Keeps me from calling the same people over and over

JT Alert also allows you to send a text message to another station but they will only get it if they are also using JT Alert.

It also allows automatic logging to HRD.

I can't seem to get this to work. It is connecting to HRD logbook and reading the entries but it is not marking any entity as worked before and it is not writing to the log.
Any ideas? Sorry for the hijack.

Open the Settings menu, scroll down to Logging and click on HRD V5/V6.  Click box to Enable HRD V5/V6 logging.  In the data source block select HRD my Logbook- Access.

If that doesn't work, PM me and we'll see if we can figure it out.

FYI, you have to refresh your logbook to see the new entries.
