I must have stumbled into a field day or something. Made contact with JQ2GYU in Susono, Japan on 21.350. He acknowledged he could hear me but nothing else after that.
Still trolling the bands if anyone else is out on. |

Is there a better band from UT to the east coast for this time of day? I'm still learning propagation principles. This time of day, you could experience 'grayline propagation." Grayline Propatation tl;dr: Your signal will be propagaged SOUTH, along the line between day and night (called the "terminator") to approximately the same latitude on the other side of the equator. The band is nearly dead except a few booming stations from South America. 40m would be a better choice at this time of the day. Let me know if you want to have a QSO on 40m. Quoted:

I threw out a couple of CQs but it is a little early for 40m for me. If you were doing it on 7265 i heard you... barely I gotta look into something with my radio, I am showing an S9 noise level and all of the signals I am receiving are coming in +40 - +60 |

You were strong 59 into Vegas then poof! Gone. Quoted:

Scooterinvegas, had you for a second, band is in and out here. I could barely pull you out of the noise. You were strong 59 into Vegas then poof! Gone. Thanks for the short qso. I haven't had a lot of luck with 40m lately. Glad to hear I'm getting out. |

It's not needed on 40 meters. You will notice huge reduction in noise level while the stations are still there, loud and clear. |
