I baggedd Suriname via the Dutch Army that was jungle training there.

Because I was running the PRC 320 they sent me cards and unit patches and all sorts of cool-assed stuff.

Me too, sans the cool extras, since I was on a 7300. We chatted a little, and I told the guy to stay dry and he said that was pretty much an impossible trick to accomplish there in the jungle.

This guy must be in a high-noise area, as he's stone deaf. Lol! I had him as well as -04, and I called and kept increasing the power until I was throwing 700 watts at him to no avail. He called CQ repeatedly sometimes, so I know he wasn't hearing anyone at that moment. It's a shame that it was my first time encountering Cambodia on the air and I couldn't seal the deal this time. I did see K9-Bob still calling to him long after he faded into nothingness at my QTH.

I am in his log on 10m, but I have been heating up the ionosphere for the past few days to no avail for another band slot.

A local near me worked him on 30m FT8 at the gray line and mentioned he used 1400 watts to make the contact. I reminded him that 30m had a 200 watt limit and he was like .

He worked a few in my call area and at least one of those was my state (I looked). I'll spend the whole weekend chasing him if I have to. Lol! It's 11PM here and I have to get up for work tomorrow at 5AM.

ATNO for me! Just worked XU7GNY in Cambodia on my first call on 10M FT8! Saw him spotted, confirmed I could hear him, then changed my dipole from 17M to 10M.

XU7GNY
28.085 MHz
MSHV

EDIT: He's been spotted on 18.095 as well, but I cannot copy him at this time.

I called him on 17M last night until I was blue in the face. Lol! I finally quit answering his CQ calls, even though he was booming. Obviously he has a severe noise problem on 17M, as he answered very few callers. He finally moved from 18.095 to the crowded 18.100 and did no better.

Not a single decode here on 7.056 from either the DX or anyone calling. Lol!

J38R just came on the air, so I'll probably focus on slot filling. One slot for Cambodia will probably be it for me.

Well, I did just manage my second Cambodian contact, this time on 24.911. I gave him a -03 and received a -04 in return.

J38R in Grenada is on 14.182 listening up 5-10. I've already racked up 3 slots on them this evening. Heading for the shower.

Good deal! Sounds like you're in the sweet spot for propagation with Cambodia!

EDIT: A little hint: After you search a log on Clublog like you did, you can erase your call sign before taking a screen shot instead of blacking it out later. 😉

Well I'll be a monkey's uncle! I worked him a few minutes ago on 18.100 -- the crowded frequency. I called him forever the other day on 18.095 when he was running as high as +14 and he never heard me and kept calling CQ. Tonight I gave him a -08 and received a -19. Cambodia on three bands is probably all I can muster.

All I need is a contact on 15m and I will be done chasing XU7GNY. I honestly never thought I would be able to work him more than once or twice on any band.

Sometimes it's just better to be lucky than good.

That's disappointing when it happens. I saw a guy on 20M FT8 call him about twenty times today with "R-18",  which indicates that he was chosen and replied. On a whim, I checked XU7GNY's log on Clublog and saw where the guy had indeed made the log for 20M FT8. In fact, it was his only contact. I sent him an email to let him know how that he was successful, but I haven't heard anything back. I wrote down his QSO details in case he needs them. I'd like for someone to do that for me if I was ever in that situation.

My most recent busted call was 20M SSB for CB0ZA. It was finally corrected after they checked the log and found I was logged with a "5" instead of a "9" in my call. The same thing happened with J38R today, but luckily I heard his error and corrected him quickly. Obviously that isn't the same as FT8 where there's no mistaking your call sign. Like you, I've had missing FT8 logs show up later. Good luck, as I know that's the last one you needed.
