I don't intentionally hoard /\/\ equipment, but I do have four Micor UHF mobiles and a Micor UHF Compa Station in my bedroom.

Oh, those channel elements will keep me busy this winter!

Eh. I can tell you street prices on most of the DOS based stuff and some of the newer stuff. That's about it though, I don't have much experience with anything newer than a HT750 and haven't dicked around with any of the digital stuff.

Maybe. What kind of duty cycle/power are you looking for? Mobile based or not? Price range?

PM me. I'll tell you anything you'd want to know about building them on the cheap.

I have probably a dozen or so Spectra radios in different bands and model configurations.

Quite a few SyntorX and 9000s too.

Even bought, yes thats right bought, the programing software for each and for  handhelds as well.

Now all I have to do is get off my ass and install them.

I probably have 15 high power Spectras stashed away somewhere. I think some may be T band though (as I haven't actually taken the time to load RSS and see yet). Mix of VHF and UHF. All of them use the Systems 9000 control head…which I have 8 or so of.

That's what most municipalities bought…that's what most municipalities gave away after narrow banding. Even today, there  is far more information out there on working on Motorola's versus Kenwood or Icom.

One fairly cheap method is to take a GE MASTR II (the Exec exciter is no good for GMRS) mobile and convert it over. They'll run around 55% of their rated power at full duty. It is roughly $100 to crystal them (depending on how you go), $10 for the in case volume/squelch control, and $30 if you want it to transmit a PL, and depending on the power you can get some notchplexers out of china for $80-$90.
