Is the tablet running Android or a more standard linux? Does it have a USB port? Can you get shell access on it?

Already have the tablet.  My wife bought it for me.

As for the rest, Linux, etc, hellifiknow.  If I push the POWER ON button it says Samsung Galaxi Note 10.1.

My wife says it's an Android.

No USB regular size port, but there is a USB cable, from a mini-USB port on the tablet, with regular USB plug on the other end to plug into a laptop and
charge it the tablet.  I don't know if that mini-USB port is for charging only, or data.

She says I can use a Bluetooth keyboard with it.

She has found the DroidPSK app, but it does only PSK31 and PSK63.

... shell access...

I can barely figure out how to turn it on.  Gimme a break.

She actually got this for me to run model trains with an app called Engine Driver via wifi > computer >  JMRI > NCE DCC.

Model trains you say ... you wouldn't happen to have any imitation crab in the freezer?

I'm interested in where this leads as I use both Fldigi and an IC-7200.

I did find information on running multiple setup files for Fldigi for running different radios from the same PC.
I want to try it out first testing it before posting on the forum though.

No, I have real crab meat in the freezer.  (Also real shrimp, real oysters, real... well, you get my drift.  I'm on the TX gulf coast.)

OK, I found out that FLDigi can't be used with a tablet.  It would have to be rewritten to function with
touchscreen.

OK, this thread should be closed.  Sorry guys, for the stupid question.

There is always the PSKer app.  Not sure if it's available for droid though.

Yes, DroidPSK app.  But we were looking for something capable of more modes.

I was thinking the tablet could be recharged from the same 12 vdc source powering the radio, be compact,
pack in the case with rest of the radio gear.  Looks like we'll still need a laptop and 120 vac for digital operating
portable.

I'm with you on this. Would be great for portable ops.
