This opens up all sorts of possibilities...  I signed up, downloaded the client and have controlled on receive, but have not uploaded my license / requested transmit privileges.  It seemed to work very well, as far as I could tell.  The instructions and info in their forum were a little vague, but basically:
* Sign up
* Download client
* Operate the radios
* Upload your license / request permission from each specific radio owner to transmit on their radio.

All sorts of different radios, with different antennas and capabilities.  Some just VHF / UHF; others HF with rotating antennas.

I focused on US radios - didn't even mess with any foreign ones.

What say you?

I was using one of their radios located about 200 miles away from my home for some short range testing but that rig has disappeared, as have all the rigs in all the adjoining states.  Seemed like a good idea but there must not be much of groundswell of support.

I dislike the idea of remote radios.

Some of the fun in radio is finding a hard to find location, and operating in the comfort of your big city home, while you control a radio in the BFE reuins things for the people whom actually operate out of the BFE.

I made contact with a Ham in Australia, who was actually operating through a remote  station in Florida.

Rather disappointing to find out that my first Australian contact didn't count.

Great points.  Thx.

I travel for business, and won't have a mobile HF rig for quite a while.  I was looking at this as a way to play from the hotel.  Then, I started wondering whether it would be worth it to serve my machine up so I could it it, instead of someone else's, from the hotel.  I also have several friends that just got licensed, but who won't have radios for a while - seems like a way for them to get their feet wet.
