My first radio, a TR-751a, is on the way and I need a PS. Candidates are a Samlex SEC 1233 or 1235M, Alinco DM-330 FXT/MVT, or Daiwa 330W. What about the Astron SS-30M?

GTG on any of them?

That is the route I wish I had gone.

I have the 1223BBM supply.  Only way I know it is on is the red light on the switch.  Work uses an Astron for the UHF base stations.  Haven't noticed any issues with either of them.

I have both an Astron 35A and a Samlex 1223BBM.

I have no problem with either. The Samlex is amazing for its size.

This is not something you mentioned, but I am going to just throw out there as a possibility.
I recently needed a power supply for my Yaesu 1900 that I installed as base station. Being on a cheap limited budget, I chose to use an old desktop computer that I no longer used as my power supply. I opened it up and gutted the case of everything but the power supply and fans. Then wired all the 12 volt feeds together along with all the ground feeds but two. Then used one ground feed along with a 3 volt feed to run an on/off toggle switch that I drilled into the front of the case. Then I took the second ground feed that I saved out and one of the 5volt feeds and used them to power one of the fans and an indicator lamp. This is necessary to excite the system. End result, is a power supply that feeds my radio with 12.3 volts even when transmitting on 55 watts. And it was free to me re-purposed goods.

I have the 1235 and also the Powerwerx 30a.

I love both.  The 1235 is my desktop and the Powerwerx is part of my emcomm setup due to it's compact size.

I have a Samlex SEC-1223, SEC-1223BBM, and SEC-1235M.  (I had another 1223 that was just sold along with an Icom IC-718 and LDG IT-100 tuner, a complete setup for a new ham.)

All of my Samlex power supplies have worked flawlessly.  No noise (RF or fan noise), no heating.  They just work.

[Forest Gump]Well, that's one less thing I have to worry about.[/Forest Gump]

I have to have the type that have the main power connectors on the back... I have no idea why so many have them in front.

30A Astron switching here.

The Powerwerx 30a PS has both connectors on the front and back.  I use the rear connectors for the permanent install and the front connectors to charge my HT or anything that needs temporary power.  Now if the PS only has it on the front, I can see how that would be annoying.

Since nobody has done it yet, I'll put in a good word for the SS-330W.

The wide 5-15 volt adjustable output range allows it to also serve as a benchtop power supply - Very nice for home-brewing projects. In a pinch, it could even be used as a 30 amp charger for a deep-cycle battery bank.

For a switcher, it's remarkably RFI-free. I've never found any "birdies" or hash on any of the HF bands, in spite of the fact that mine sits just a few inches away from my IC-7200.

im a cheap basturd so i will say i have a 19amp radio shack PS that powers my FT-100D just fine. no noise that i notice on any of the bands i use. you have to actually go to the RS store to see if they have them though. last time i checked they didnt have them listed on their website. forgot what i paid for it though.

I get a power supply and then mount the mobile bracket on top of it for the radio I'm using.
Here are some pictures of my setups.

Currently using SEC-1223, SEC-1235, SEC-1223BBM, and a Alinco DM-330MVT.
Any of these are GTG.

Because they are really aimed more at the lab bench market than ham radio.

While I don't have the Powerwerx supply, I've heard nothing but good about it.
