I looked at this box on Friday at Academy, it was $12.99, today it's on sale for $7.99. I almost bought it till I realized this model didn't have the oring gasket. The oring model with the tray was $16.99. Still a good deal for a basic gear box. I may pick one up at this price. http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/plano-ammo-can/pid-304101?N=29812268&Ntt=Plano&Ntk=All |

Or just don' put anything in it that you don't want to get wet |

I bought the model with the oring myself. I played with it a bit this morning, my icom 703 is a just about 1/2 inch too long to fit with the faceplate attached. My kenwood vhf radios will fit fine.
I like the silicone idea, but the box without the ring wouldn't be horrible. Splash proof without the seal, probably ok in light rain. |
