If you use HRD you can make a map like that with the Export to Google Earth function. It's nifty.

will it work with the free version?

It works on my version. Some of the locators are a little screwed up, but it maps most of them fine.

Ok, for the life of me I can not find how to do this. I see the export but not to Google Earth.

Edit: I see the Google Earth button, but it is greyed out. How do you make it hot?

Edit 2: Got it. I was trying to export the file, not just click on the log entry, then look up

Really?!?!!  I have been doing it manually in Google Earth to get the image like in the OP.

ETA

Got it!  That's pretty sweet.

I had been doing them one at a time: locate the call sign on QRZ, locate the place on Google Earth, placemarker, path from home.

Now: select all in HRD logbook, right click, Lookup > Google Earth, Bam!

OK..... HRD log, high lite all entries in logbook, right-click LOOKUP, GOOGLE EARTH

and it looks like the screenshots posted above, except the map is centered off the coast of Africa, and all the lines converge there.

Google Earth thinks I'm off the coast of Gabon ???

WTF

EDIT....

like this

Mine was off too, but not that much.  It only had 4 digit grid and was about 30-40 miles away.  Updated HRD to the 6 digit grid and it put it with a couple of miles (I live fairly close to the edge of a square).

It's fun to high-lite different bands, modes, dates, ect in HRD log,  and look at propagation

I just learned,....I've never worked the South Pacific on 17meters....weird

I managed to get my few contacts into HRD.

I have my QTH correct

I select all contacts then right click and Lookup - Google Earth

But only the one contact that I happen to Right Click over shows on GE (and the path shows)

Regardless of which contact I Right Click over, the one I've clicked over at that time shows off the east coast of Africa.

And only that contact shows

Make sure your lat/long is entered in your station profile in HRD.

subscribe to QRZ

login

go into HRD log, and "modify" your contacts

select a contact, hit MODIFY, when it brings up your exsisting QSO, hit the QRZ button to inport the info into you contacts

reboot google earth and it should show lines to there actual QTH.

So I have to pay for qrz?

I have the XML subscription and it makes it so much easier to pull all of their info into HRD logbook. I don't know if it's required or not to get the locator squares into HRD automatically.

I guess if I knew HOW hrd pulled locations I could figure this out easier.

(there is no MODIFY function that I've been able to find in the Logbook section)

Yes same here. It is cool but want it to use my station information.

Any other ideas ?

Not sure what the questions are about QRZ ? That has nothing to do with G-Earth mapping my contacts.

Suggestions

In Logbook: Tools->Configure->My Station

You also need to fully input everything into your DX contacts in HRD log

After i correctef my QTH in HRD, i still saw lines and callsigns running to
a point off the coast of africa

I wrote down those callsigns and updated my log by hitting the QRZ
button....this gave google the locations it needs

Now those DX contacts show up on the map correctly

My logbook goes back 21 years, and not everything was filled out completely

I hit the QRZ button as well on one contact to see if it would pull more info.

But how do I force it to pull info?  It brings up the QRZ page for that callsign but that's all I see it doing.
