Not a screaming great deal but I'm happy. Picked up a lightly used Icom IC-V8000 from an older ham for 125.
I've been kind of looking for 2m with a few watts for the truck and keeping the Yaesu FT-8800 for encom and house. 75 watts mobile should be fun in the flat lands. Also picked up a little taller 2m mobile antenna that can take the watts and then more. I kind of would like to have had UHF with for mobile, but the only thing I do on UHF is on the central intertie system on IRLP. Most of the time I can hit that with a HT. And most mobiles only do 35 watts on UHF anyway. So UHF will be HT mobile, or the yaesu. What kind of scores did you guys get lately? |

Got a Kenwood TR-7950 for $40, looks to be in great shape, sounds fine on the air. Need to get the Piexx tone board for it, though, which is $65. So, gonna keep my eyes open for a used one... unless I get sick of waiting. Also sold a "10 meter" amp for $80 and a Kenwood TH-K20 HT. |
