Bicycle Mobile Hams of America is a club started by Hartley Alley who also started the Hilly Hundred ride in Indiana.  We have a ride every year at Dayton on Saturday afternoon and a forum Sunday morning.  This year I am one of the speakers at the forum.  I will be showing pictures and talking about working SAG at the Hilly Hundred.  All SAG drivers are hams and are all equipped with 2 meter phone and APRS. If you are interested in bikes come join us for the ride and the forum.  There will be bike mobile rigs on display at the forum.  This year mine will be equipped as I use it for bike mobile SAG at HH.

Hams riding Bicycles

Because being hated by everyone (except other bicyclists) isn't enough

Just kidding, of course, it sounds cool.
But first I have to get in good enough shape to ride a bike........

Not everyone can be as big a geek as I am.

Who else has solar powered HF on their bike?

I used to ride a bicycle 60-80 miles 3 times a week. That was 15 years ago. Now I can't look at one without my back hurting.
This is a preferred emergency communications vehicle for HAM operators:

Yesterday I rode 44.9 miles in 2 hrs 56 minutes.  12 miles paved. 2 miles 2 track. 30.9 gravel roads.  1163 ft of climbing.  Only had 2m/70cm and APRS on that bike yesterday.

same way Budd Drummond does.  metal frame of the bike or trailer and counterpoise dragging on the ground.  It doesn't have to be raised but it does change the tuning.
