First I want to thank everyone for the input on the HT thread I started. I ordered a GT-3 AND the UV-5RE+. The GT-3 is programmed and ready to go. The UV I just ordered tonight so it has not arrived yet.
I decided to test this Saturday as opposed to waiting until the 15th of February. I played around with some practice exams and was scoring mediocre and getting about a 50% pass rate so I was going to study and wait until next month. In doing research I found a couple of study guides that made a HUGE difference. I read through them and have taken 14 practice tests since then and every one was a pass. 11 of them with 91% so with new found confidence I think I am ready to go. I may test for general as well depending on how well I do on the tech but either way I think I can at least get a good passing score on the tech. I am going to re read the guide and try to knock out 15 or 20 more practices to drive the info home and then hit it saturday morning before work. Wish me luck. |
Passed the tech. Tried the general but haven't had a chance to even open the study guide for the General. I am going to take that one next month. 16 right on pure common sense and educated guessing on the general.  Disappointed I got 4 wrong on the tech but a pass is a pass.

Congrats man!! I passed my test today also. Been listening to the local repeaters all day to start getting the lingo down.
